Multi-leaf Springs

The origins of the Fireflex Leaf spring reaches back to the 1960’s as the Fireflex founder used his spring making experience and knowledge to modify and manufacture all types of leaf springs for Australia’s Transport Industry.

Today the Fireflex Sales and Development Teams’ continue to design and supply quality OEM replacement Leaf Springs for a vast range of applications. Laminated Leaf Springs are also available to replace OEM Parabolic Springs; this Leaf Spring change is sometimes required for the purpose of increased vehicle stability, control and load applications.

Design and Application – All springs are designed in accordance with SAE SH778 (1982)

Quality Steels – Grad SUP9 and SUP9A, SAE 5160 and SAE 9258.

Quality Assured Manufacturing processes – these proven processes compliment the material used in all Fireflex Leaf Springs. The heat treating and post heat treating (shot peening and presetting) stress relieving methods allow the finished product to achieve increased stress ranges that amplify the service life of your vehicles leaf spring suspension.

Tuned Spring Rates and Load Capacities –  This important operator and industry analysis allows our design team to improve on the OEM Product.

Design Elements – Special attention has been given to the Leaf Springs Design Elements; these elements include leaf end types, eye types, bushings and claming devices.

A variety of end types are chosen on Fireflex Leaf Springs to allow resistance or movement to the spring. Leaf end types can play an important part in the springs low speed movement, this is achieved by pressure distribution in the bearing area, friction is either increase or decrease depending on the leaf end type.

A large range of hardened and tempered leaf spring plates are also available for spring makers and repairers, all plates are made from SUP7 and SUP9 steels and finished at 42 – 49 HRC.
